Hi, I’m Reid Lamport and I am very blessed to be the Senior Pastor here at COTR. My family [Michele – my wife, Katie and Jessica – my daughters and Reid – my son] and I moved to Poland in 1986 where I was hired to teach learning disabled students and serve as the head football coach. After doing so for a number of years, I felt very strongly that the Lord was calling me to start a church. Through much prayer and fasting, along with encouragement and confirmation from many friends, the Church of the Rock was launched in the winter of 1999.
From that first Sunday in 1999 until August of 2011, I served in a part time capacity. From August 2011 until today I have been employed as the full-time pastor. I taught and coached high school athletics (football and softball) for 37 years and enjoyed it immensely. Pastoring this church however, has been my passion.
I can honestly say, the past 15 years have been incredible. I also have to honestly say, it been all God! I can attest to that first hand. We knew nothing about starting a church, however we know the One who knows everything about starting a church, so we just trusted Him. There is nothing more exhilarating than to be operating in the will of God.
Now, here we are today. Blessed beyond measure with this beautiful building and surrounded by people who have a heart to serve our Lord. If you are looking for a church family, I invite you to come and worship with us at The Rock.

MARK BRUNGARD
Associate Pastor
Hello, my name is Mark Brungard and I have been blessed to serve as Associate Pastor at Church of the Rock since day one back in 1999. During the past 15 years, my wife Kari and I have witnessed God do some amazing things in the hearts and lives of His people. Four specific miracles He allowed us to be a part of have come in the form of our four children whose ages are 13, 12, 10 and 7. Incredibly, each child was born when COTR was meeting in a different facility.
Since 1996 I have been employed as a health and physical education teacher right here at Poland Seminary High School, and since 2005, I have also had the privilege of serving our young athletes at Poland as the Bulldogs Head Football Coach.
Having been born and raised in the Mahoning Valley and attending Youngstown State University, I have chosen to stay right here “at home,” where needless to say, my roots run deep. God has certainly used my experiences and has given me a platform through which I can shine His light, carry out its mission, and introduce others to Him. My role at the Rock includes chairing our worship services and preaching whenever needed.

NICK GLATZER
Associate Pastor
Hi, I’m Nick Glatzer, associate pastor here at The Rock. I was born in Long Beach, California and raised an hour from here, near Steubenville. I attended Malone College and received a Bachelor’s degree in elementary education. It was there at Malone where I met Katie Lamport (Pastor Reid’s daughter).
My first contact with Church of the Rock came when I visited Katie and her family in the winter of 1999. I began attending regularly with Katie after our engagement in 2000.
After Katie and I married we moved to Poland and it was then when I felt the call to join the Church of the Rock community and mission.
My role began as youth pastor and it has now evolved into associate pastor where I oversee the children’s ministry, and fill the pulpit as needed.
I oversee a hybrid home school group called Legacy and help Katie, who owns a fitness studio in Boardman. We have four children, Evan, Kenley, Brooklyn, and Colson.

Hello, my name is Linda Penman and I have been given the wonderful opportunity of being the church secretary here at Church of the Rock since September of 2014. What an awesome gift it is to serve God by serving our Pastor.
I have lived in the Youngstown area all my life. I met my husband in 1965, we were married in 1967 and began our family in 1968. I have been blessed to have a wonderfully, strong and Godly husband, Rich, a beautiful daughter, Cindi, and an amazing son and daughter-in- law, Mitch & Kim. Who, by the way, are responsible for my 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
We started coming to “The Rock” in 2008. I had known the Lord for many years, but never as intimately as I do today. How exciting it has been to experience God’s love through the good times but, most importantly, through the seemingly bad times. Being able to share His love through word and deed with others has been a promise fulfilled for me!
